まず目を引くのは、背表紙に施された黒いエッジペイント——机の上のほとんどのアイテムより、一段と確かな存在感を放つノートパッドです。台紙はアイボリーの紙巻きボードで、小型のハードカバーのような佇まい。ページは滑らかなオフホワイトのリボンで綴じられ、その上にエッジ仕上げが施されています。「To」「From」「Subject」の欄の下では、このメッセージパッドが静かにあなたの言葉を待っています。ミシン目入りで切り離しがきれいに行え、サイズはジャケットのポケットや、デスクのわずかなスペースにもすっぽり収まります。
Cloth & Paper（クロース＆ペーパー）——2015年にAshley Reynoldsが設立したスタジオ。10年にわたり、デスクの片隅に置いておきたくなるようなアイテムをつくり続けています。
The paper-wrapped board backing gives it real structure, so it stands firm on the desk instead of flapping around. I’ve already gone through one and the perforation tears clean every time—ordering another two.
The black edge paint along the spine is such a subtle touch but it makes the whole pad look deliberate, like it belongs in a design studio. I've already gone through two of them for daily to-do lists and the paper handles pen without bleeding through.
The ivory paper wrap feels more substantial than the flimsy cardstock on most pads I’ve used, and that black edge gives it a clean, finished look that actually makes me want to keep it out on my desk instead of tucked in a drawer.
