A pencil that defies expectation—write an uninterrupted 12.5 miles without ever reaching for a sharpener. The tip maintains its precision from first mark to last, transforming the ritual of writing into a continuous flow of thought unbroken by the limitations of ordinary pencils. This is liberation in aluminum form.

Six-sided aluminum and brass barrel rests perfectly balanced in hand—substantial yet nimble. Your marks remain erasable despite the permanent tip, preserving the freedom to create and refine. The integrated centimeter/inch ruler and 1:20 and 1:50 architectural scales make this more than a writing instrument—it’s a companion for precision when inspiration strikes.

Made by Troika Design Werkstatt in Germany with an HB grade writing tip (this lead writes in a lighter tone than a standard 2B pencil). There is no method of refilling this pencil, as it features a permanent lead designed to last the entire 12.5-mile writing journey. 5.78" length.

Troika is the winner of over 60 design prizes, including the prestigious Red Dot award, German Design award, and the Good Design award. The company lives by its motto, “freude schenken”, roughly translated as “be delighted”.

Steven ★★★★★

The 12.5-mile claim sounded like marketing fluff until I actually timed my notes with it—three weeks of daily sketching and the tip still has that same crisp point. It's honestly a little unsettling how long this thing goes without needing a sharpener.

Hannah ★★★★★

Twelve and a half miles is a lot of writing, and I’m only partway through that first pencil—the tip hasn’t dulled or chipped once, which honestly feels like a small miracle on my dense note pages.

John ★★★★★

Twelve and a half miles of uninterrupted writing sounds like marketing puffery, but I hit the 40-page mark on a dense project and the point is still razor sharp. It genuinely feels like the last pencil I'll ever need to buy for daily notes.
