Category: The Desktop

Taking inspiration from Japanese Onigiri rice balls, Before Breakfast spent four years designing and refining their collection of writing instruments. The result is a soft triangular shape aluminum sheathed in matte black. The pen's rounded edges improve writing comfort and allow it to sit on the desktop without rolling. Designed with simplicity in mind, this push button style pen is ideal for those who are always on the move.

The pencil mechanism is a simple push button, and accommodates both .5mm and .7mm leads. Comes with one black Schmidt .7mm lead, additional .5mm and .7mm refills are readily available.

Also available in Raw Aluminum, Rollerball and Ballpoint.

From Before Breakfast, a London-based stationery company. The name of the brand is a homage to the quote found in Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll: “Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”

Nicholas ★★★★★

The soft triangular body feels like it was carved just for my hand—no more gripping a round pencil like a drumstick. The aluminum keeps it light but sturdy, and I catch myself doodling for twice as long as usual.

Victoria ★★★★★

That triangular grip is a game changer—it fits my hand like it was molded for me, and the matte aluminum finish makes it feel far more premium than its price suggests. I've been using it daily for a week and the weight is perfectly balanced for long writing sessions.

Harper T. ★★★★★

The aluminum body feels cool and solid in the hand, and the triangular shape actually stops the pencil from rolling off my tilted desk—a small win I didn’t expect. Four years of refining clearly shows in how balanced it is when writing.
