Hasegawa Lucano Step Ladder: 2-step, Mustard Yellow
Category: The Full Collection
Utility reimagined with quiet confidence. The Lucano ladder from Hasegawa—Japan's premier ladder manufacturer since 1956—transforms a household necessity into an object worth displaying.
Unlike conventional ladders that demand hiding between uses, the Lucano stands with architectural presence when folded, requiring no wall support thanks to its self-stabilizing design. Its triangular cross-sections and hidden hardware demonstrate Japanese design's commitment to refined minimalism.
Crafted from aluminum with no visible screws, the ladder combines structural integrity with mobility. A single motion opens it for use, while the top bar serves dual purposes—a secure handhold and a convenient carrying point.
The mustard yellow is a warm, deliberate accent — a working object that earns its place in view.
The Lucano has earned its place in permanent museum collections and received Red Dot "Best of the Best", Good Design, and JIDA Design awards—recognition that speaks to its exceptional design.
Available in two sizes and several distinct colorways from bold statements to refined neutrals, each finish maintains the same meticulous construction that has defined Hasegawa's hand-assembled products since the 1960s. View the collection here.
