Coolicon Standard Pendant, Large: 9 colors

Coolicon Standard Pendant, Large: 9 colors - Main image
$345 $690 In stock

Category: The Full Collection

First drawn for a patent application in 1933, the Standard Coolicon has spent nearly a century earning its place — on the factory floor, in the workshop, in Winston Churchill's wartime bunker kitchen. A design that needed no revision then, and needs none now.

The same 15-step wet enameling process, worked in small batches by craftspeople operating closer to a studio pottery than a manufacturer. The vented top gallery, the original innovation, still does exactly what it was designed to do: ambient light pools upward, task light falls clean below.

Available in nine colors and two sizes.
Vitreous enameled steel · Brass socket · 15.75" dia. × 9.75" H · 92" cord · E26 / 60W max · Indoor · Made in the United Kingdom.

Ella ★★★★★

The enamel finish on this pendant is gorgeous in person, and the wide shade spreads a soft, even glow across the whole dining table. I went with the large size in a deeper color and it's exactly the vintage factory look I wanted. Wiring was straightforward and it feels genuinely solid.

Hung it over my workbench and the light spread is so even I barely need a task lamp anymore. The steel shade feels genuinely heavy in a good way, and the ribbed shape throws almost no glare back in my eyes. Wiring it up took ten minutes.

The enamel finish on this large pendant is flawless, and the light it throws is warm without any glare. I've got it in the dining room and it's become the piece everyone asks about. Churchill had one, apparently, and I can see why it stuck around.
