Apartamento Ceramic Book Stand

This functional sculpture by Xavier Mañosa for Apartamento occupies the middle ground between utility and art, commanding attention through deliberate restraint rather than unnecessary flourish. Each bookstand begins with a clay stamp before receiving individualized glazing, creating subtle variations that resist mass production aesthetics. When displaying a book, it completes its transformation from object to statement piece, adapting seamlessly to its surroundings.

Display an art book open to inspire daily creativity. Keep a cookbook at the perfect angle in your kitchen while freeing up counter space. Place it bedside with your current read, or in your studio with a design reference—let it move through your space as both tool and accent piece.

Spanish ceramicist Xavier Mañosa operates at the junction of industrial design and artisanal craft, intentionally dissolving boundaries between contemporary techniques and ancestral traditions.

His collaboration with Apartamento—the independent publisher celebrated for eschewing polished perfection for authentic spaces—manifests in this limited edition sculptural bookstand.
