Mounted these two brackets in about ten minutes and the shelf sits perfectly flush against the wall. The slender brackets almost disappear, so the oak just reads as a thin clean line above my desk.
The brackets are so slim the shelf almost disappears against the wall, which is exactly what I wanted in a narrow hallway. Oak has a nice matte finish and it holds a row of books without any sag.
Hung it above the sofa and it basically disappears into the wall, just a thin line of wood. The brackets are slimmer than I pictured but feel solid once mounted, and the 1956 proportions are spot on.
