The uneven, raw edges catch the ash just fine, and the fact that it’s literally a melted glass shard from a kiln bottom makes it feel like a tiny piece of history on my desk. It’s heavier than I expected, which keeps it steady even when I tap the incense stick.

The way light passes through the salvaged shards is mesmerizing—each piece catches the glow differently, and my desk finally feels complete. Annealing was clearly done right, because the glass feels solid and safe to handle even with all those jagged edges.
