The gesture is borrowed from the kitchen — a slow twist, a shifted shade, a room that changes by degrees. Francesco Faccin's Pepa distills the mechanics of a pepper mill into one of the most quietly considered portable lamps in recent Italian design: a turned ash cylinder, a conical shade, a stainless steel disc perforated to catch and release light as the shade rotates on its axis.

No buttons. No apps. Just the lamp, your hand, and the room responding.

The silhouette is sculpturally coherent from every angle — as composed on a shelf as on a dining table. Lit, it casts a warm, diffused glow. Cordless and rechargeable, Pepa runs up to 19 hours per charge and moves wherever the light should be.

Edward F. ★★★★★

The twist mechanism is surprisingly satisfying to adjust, and the light spreads just right for reading at my desk. Even after a month, that warm glow hasn't gotten old.

Aurora V. ★★★★★

The way the shade shifts during a slow twist feels natural, like adjusting a kitchen tool. The light itself is warm without being harsh, and it completely changes the room's mood in seconds.

The twist-to-adjust mechanism is so intuitive, I find myself playing with it even when I don't need to change the light. It shifts the whole mood of my desk from work-focused to cozy in a single, smooth motion.
